Through the Resurrection

Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ all are delivered from death.

At this Easter season, we celebrate the glorious Resurrection of Jesus Christ. How deeply grateful I am for Him and all He has done for us.

Several years ago, I attended the funeral of a dear woman in our ward who had passed away from cancer. I had spent time with her in the final months of her life and had come to know her husband as well. He was not a member of our Church. At the funeral, he was heartbroken—understandably distraught and full of sorrow.

He turned to me and asked, “What will happen to her now? Where is she? When will I see her again?” In that moment, I was reminded of the peace the gospel of Jesus Christ brings into my life. I reflected on the beautiful truths we’ve been given—truths about where we go after this life, the plan of salvation, and the promise that death is not the end.

How grateful I am for the revelations given through prophets that provide comfort, peace, and assurance in the face of loss.

The gospel doesn’t remove life’s hardships, but it gives us strength and a deeper peace as we go through them. I am especially thankful for my Savior—not only for His death, but even more for His Resurrection.
